Family Night at Chilis

It has been a long time since we have been out to a nice dinner as a family. We used to go a lot, but living with my parents, it is easier to just stay home. Well Trevor finally got a job, as mentioned in the previous post, and at said job, they give him gift cards sometimes when goals are met. Well, last night, he had a gift card to Chili's. I love Chili's, Trevor not so much. We decided that we would take the kids with us this time so that we didn't have to wait for my mom and Lance to get home from the gym to go on a date. It is an adventure to take a 6 year old and a 3 year old out to eat, but since being at my mom's, they have both become more willing to try new things, and they are both trying to learn to behave.

I decided that I wanted to share a starter with Trevor, and the one that we agreed on was onion strings, sort of like onion rings that aren't in rings, with jalapeno slices, also fried. it came with a side of ranch, and Caitlynn has an obsession with ranch dressing. She decided that she liked the onion strings, so Andruw thought that he would taste them. Then, Caity picked up a jalapeno and said "What is this one?" Trevor asked her if she would like to try the pepper and found her one without seeds. She liked it until the spice kicked in. This was her face:

Andruw was more afraid to try them after seeing Caitlynn's face, but we told him he didn't have to that was fine. We sat there eating more onion strings, and all the sudden Andruw was like, "I wanna try this." We gave him a small slice with no seeds just like we did for Caitlynn, and he loved it. He asked for another, and we gave him a little bit bigger of one. He said, "I am gonna have a medium one now" after finishing the second, and grabbed his own and dipped in the ranch, then stuck it in his mouth. I am sure that it had seeds, because we weren't able to see it first, and this is what his face looked like:

Notice that his eyes are red and he looks like he is going to cry, right. Well he asked to have more later, but we had what was left taken away when our main course came.
Who knew that my babies would be so brave! I am very proud of them this day!

Happy Birthday Trevor

Well, yesterday was a milestone for Trevor. He turned 30. We celebrated last weekend by going on a date to Texas Roadhouse. but last night, Caity and Andruw made him brownies and drew pictures of what they like the most about their dad. It was fun.

Probably the best present that Trevor got this year was a new job. FINALLY. He started at Autoliv in Ogden through the staffing service SOS. It is funny to think that this is exactly what he did when we got married 8 1/2 years ago, but he is happy to have a job. I don't blame him really, it is boring to stay home.

Caitlynn started going to a daycare/preschool this week, and she loves it. She has been singing the ABC's and Mary Had a Little Lamb nonstop now, and she keeps telling me, "Mom, I made lots of boy friends, and girl friends. But more girl friends." She is excited to go every morning, and sad to leave every afternoon, so this must be a great place for her.

Time flies when your life is a mess!

So here is November! I know, much to long, right?! Sorry! Here is a brief catch up to what our lives are.

Mid July, Trevor lost his job at Sysco. In this economy, it is hard because he is still having trouble finding something, even through temporary staffing agencies. Labor day weekend, we moved out of our apartment in West Jordan and moved to my mom's in Clinton. It is good and bad, fun and hard.

I am still at Davinci, and hope to be for a long time. I was a little worried through October when I missed 5 1/2 days, but apparently I am needed/loved. :)

There may be some major changes coming in our lives soon, I can feel it..so stay coming back. I am going to get better at posting!
